Clothing Tips for Office Holiday Parties

As the holidays approach, many people are going to be attending functions such as office holiday parties. While these events give people the opportunity to break out of the business suits they might wear on a daily basis at the office, men don’t want to look sloppy or underdressed.  Finding the right balance of what to wear at an office holiday party can be a difficult task.

First off, it’s important to ask what the attire is going to be at the party if it’s not specified. If you need to, do some research on the location where the party will take place. If it’s at a high-class restaurant, wearing a men’s suit might be a good idea, but if the event is taking place at a more casual location you might be OK if you wear more casual attire. For these types of venues, pairing sport coats with slacks or even a nice, clean and ironed pair of jeans could work.

But if you’re looking to really make a statement, mens suits are always a stylish way to go. After all, this is a work-event, and you have to assume that you will be judged by your bosses and peers based on your appearance as well as your actions. Choosing a suit that is comfortable for you to wear is important, since you want to feel loose while the party is taking place. Additional items such as an overcoat, hat or gloves can add additional class to your look and ensure that you and your clothing choices are the talk of the party – for all the right reasons.
